Chatham County Residents can get a free microchip for their pets at PetFix through the end of March. 7215 Sallie Mood Drive. A microchip is small chip (about the size of a grain of rice) that carries a unique ID number for your pet. Shelters, veterinarians, and animal rescues will scan found pets for a microchip. The microchip contains your contact information and can help get your pet back to you quickly. Proof of residency is required.
