Scotty Snipes was born in Clovis, New Mexico a very small but famous town. It is the home of the Norman Petty recording studios (Buddy Holly, Fireballs, Bobby Vee and Roy Orbison). Scotty’s great uncle owned KICA radio and he got to meet many stars from that era. He started his radio career in 1982 and came to Savannah during the Olympics in 1996 to co-host the Mix 97.3 mornings show. Scotty did that for 5 years before leaving full-time radio. He started his own Construction Company (SHC General Contractors) in 2001. In 2005 the radio bug bit again and he joined Quality Rock’s Weekend crew. Scotty says … “I’m only still here doing this because this is the coolest radio station I’ve ever heard”.
