The Savannah Police Department is accepting applications through this Sunday for its PAL Summer Camp. The Camp is free for children ages 8-14 and is open to Savannah Residents. Campers will learn skills in character building, goal setting, decision making, crime reporting, web safety, self-defense and much more. Learning strategies will include guest speakers, field trips and hands-on activities. Campers will also be exposed to many aspects of college life with the support of Savannah State University. The Boys Camp will be June 20-24, The Girls Camp will be June 27-July 1. The camps will take place at Savannah State University’s Police Headquarters. Each camp will run Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Beginning at 8 a.m., camp participants may be dropped off at SSU Police Headquarters at 3219 College Street, in the Hubert C Building.
