The Islands Farmers Market

The Islands Farmers Market is open each Saturday from 9a to 12p at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 401 Quarterman Drive.

Pets are welcome. Local honey, eggs, meat, bread, veggies, poultry, soaps, jewelry, candles, wreathes and so much more!

Hospice Savannah 33rd Annual Tree of Light

Demere Center for Living, 6000 Business Center Drive. The Ceremony begins at 5:15pm. Sponsorship and donations allow Hospice Savannah’s Full Circle bereavement counselors to offer year-long grief support to any child, teen or adult in our community at no cost. VOLUNTEERS FOR MEALS ON WHEELS NEEDED

Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers. One hour a week is all it takes. You can make a difference delivering meals to homebound seniors in the Savannah area. Training is included. Volunteers use their own vehicles, a gas stipend is optional. There are over 500 seniors on the waiting list and the number continues to grow.

FORT PULASKI CANDLE LANTERN TOURS

Celebrate the Holiday Season with a night-time tour of Fort Pulaski by candlelight and oil lamps. The tours will take place on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th every half hour starting at 6pm, the last tour each evening will begin at 9pm. $10 per adult, 16 years & above. Children 15 years old and under are $1 (reservations must be made for children). Park passes will not be accepted. Advanced tickets are required and may be reserved by calling 877-444-6777 or online at https://www.nps.gov/fopu/learn/news/candlelantern202401nov24.htm. Only credit/debit cards will be accepted. Don’t miss the return of this highlight of the holidays. Tickets will sell out! 


HUMANE SOCIETY & PETFIX DONATION DRIVE

Make a donation to PetFix and the Humane Society and help them keep pets happy and healthy. Both the Humane Society and PetFix, their low-cost spay/neuter clinic are funded 100% by donations.

The 28th Annual City of Richmond Hill Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 7th at 10am.

The Winter Wonderland Festival & Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place in J.F. Gregory Park directly following the parade finish. Winter Wonderland Festival will include a holiday market, food trucks, trackless train rides for children, a gingerbread decorating contest, entertainment, pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus & more! Humane Society Beginner Obedience Classes

First Day Fitness Hike

A Wormsloe Ranger will lead the 2.5 mile hike through the coastal maritime forest and answer any questions that might arise. Pets welcome on 6 ft. leash. Pre-registration is required, space is limited. Please call their office at (912)353-3023 to make reservations. Two hikes available, starting at 10am 1pm on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1st.


Tybee Polar Plunge

Join in the brave souls on the pier on Tybee Island at High Noon on New Years Day.

Coast Pet Rescue’s 5th Annual Twinkle Bark Stroll

Thursday-Sunday December 19th-22nd from 530 to 830pm.All events will be held at Camp Pawsawhile Retreat Center, 7430 Thomas Ave, Savannah. A minimum $5 donation per person will give you a walk through the lighted wonderland and decorated festival of trees, sip hot cocoa, write a letter to Santa, and roast marshmallows while also meeting potential pets. Andrew Low House Tours: Ghosts of Christmas Past

Take a candlelight tour and explore the ghosts of Christmas past this Holiday Season.

The 45-minute tours are conducted on Sundays at 5:30 pm or 7:00 pm (December 15, 22, or 29). Please enter through the rear courtyard, up the stairs into the museum gift shop to begin your tour. Davenport House Yuletide Tour

The Davenport House has special Yuletide Tours now through January 4th.

Experience the holiday traditions practiced in early 19th-century Savannah. These family-friendly tours will guide guests through the decked halls of the 204-year-old Federal-style home and offer insight into how the Davenport family celebrated the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, $10 for children, and free for children under 6 years of age as well as Historic Savannah Foundation members.
